Young Geographer of the Year

Rated Intermediate, The Royal Geographical Society asks students to turn a broad geographical theme into a sharply edited visual explanation, using posters for KS2-KS4 and a StoryMap for KS5. Schools shortlist and submit entries through separate state-school and independent or international-school pathways. Success depends on accurate geography, purposeful evidence selection, visual hierarchy, and an original treatment of the river theme.

Our Take

2026 theme: From Source to Sea. KS2-KS4 submit posters; KS5 submits an Esri StoryMap. Schools may forward up to ten entries per age category through the applicable state-school or independent/international pathway.
