Analytics Cookies

If you accept analytics, CompeteMap uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find the website, including traffic sources, campaigns, and returning visitor reporting. We use PostHog EU to understand what visitors do after arriving, using only a limited set of manually approved product events and page views.

Neither Google Analytics 4 nor PostHog EU loads before you accept optional analytics. We use this information to improve the website, content, navigation, and user experience.

Separately, CompeteMap uses Vercel Web Analytics to estimate aggregate website traffic. Vercel Web Analytics does not use analytics cookies and remains active regardless of your optional analytics choice. It does not receive CompeteMap custom events, email addresses, or raw search text.

Analytics cookies are not essential to the basic operation of the site. Where required by law, we ask for consent before using analytics cookies.

Marketing and Advertising Cookies

CompeteMap does not currently use advertising cookies. If we introduce advertising services such as Google AdSense in the future, those services may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads, measure ad performance, limit repeated ads, prevent fraud and abuse, and, where permitted, personalise advertising.

Marketing and advertising cookies are not essential to the basic operation of the site. Where required by law, we will ask for consent before using non-essential advertising cookies.

Third-Party Cookies

Some third-party services used by the website may set cookies or similar technologies. These may include services for hosting, authentication, analytics, email subscription management, security, advertising, or embedded content.

We aim to use third-party services carefully and only where they support the operation, security, improvement, or funding of CompeteMap.

Select Cookie preferences in the website footer to accept, reject, or withdraw analytics consent at any time. Withdrawal stops future analytics collection and triggers a best-effort removal of analytics identifiers that the website can access in your browser.

Your website analytics choice is separate from a newsletter subscription. Withdrawing analytics consent does not unsubscribe you from email, and you can unsubscribe from the newsletter independently using the link in an email.

You can also manage advertising personalisation through the settings provided by relevant advertising platforms, such as Google's advertising settings.
