VFW Patriot’s Pen 2026–27
Rated Advanced, VFW Patriot’s Pen is a themed middle-school essay contest that moves from a local VFW Post through district, state and national judging. Students in grades 6–8 submit a 300–400 word essay and completed form to a participating Post by the published deadline. The challenge is to connect research, personal experience and a clear interpretation of the annual patriotic theme within a short word limit.
