CanSat Ireland 2026/27 Opens for TY and Senior Cycle Students

CanSat Ireland 2026/27 is now open for registrations of interest, with the competition available to students in Transition Year, Senior Cycle, or equivalent.

Teams are challenged to design, build, and launch a satellite the size of a drinks can. Their CanSat must collect temperature and atmospheric pressure data as part of its primary mission, while teams also design their own secondary mission.

Participating schools will receive a starter kit, technical guidance, and mentoring support from third-level institutions to help students develop their CanSat projects.

ESERO Ireland is also holding an online introductory webinar for teachers at 4:00 pm on 1 October 2026, providing information on the competition and how schools can get involved.
