Junk Kouture 2026–27 Goes Global with New Rest of World Pathway
For the first time, participants outside Junk Kouture’s established markets will be able to enter through a new Rest of the World pathway.
What Is Changing?
Ireland, the United Kingdom and Italy will remain Junk Kouture’s three Operating Markets, each retaining its own dedicated pathway through the competition.
At the same time, the new Rest of the World pathway will open participation to eligible schools and young creatives in other countries. Existing Junk Kouture communities in France, the United States and the UAE will become part of this pathway alongside participants from other eligible countries.
Students will continue to represent their school and country, with selected designs progressing through the competition towards the opportunity to reach the Junk Kouture World Final.
New Registration System
Junk Kouture has also launched a new digital platform for the 2026–27 season.
Users begin by creating a Fan account. From 14 September 2026, educators can register, verify their accounts and officially register their school.
Once an educator has been verified, eligible students connected to that school can move from Fan to Creator and begin their competition journey.
Registered Educators and Creators will then gain access to programme information, timelines, checklists, lesson plans, classroom resources and other competition materials.
The changes mark a significant expansion of Junk Kouture from a competition centred on several established national markets to a broader global participation model.
