STEM Racing (formerly F1 in Schools)

QUICK SUMMARY

A global STEM competition where teams design, manufacture, brand and race miniature Formula 1-style cars. Open to students aged 9–19 in teams of three to six, through participating schools and national programmes. Rated Advanced Level, with difficulty mainly coming from engineering design, project management, technical regulations and multi-stage competition.

Chemistry Olympiad Ireland

QUICK SUMMARY

Rated Expert, this two-round in-person olympiad is for eligible final-year secondary students in Ireland who meet the published age rule. Students first sit a regional written examination, with selected participants progressing to a second round in Dublin. The main challenge is solving unfamiliar chemistry problems through rigorous quantitative reasoning and deep conceptual understanding.
